Black People In Space:
This project is a large size art on canvas paper. Each character is a black person in a sci-fi movie or space related. this project is one of my favorites. It really highlights the lack of Black character in sci-fi!
Mae Carol Jemison (born October 17, 1956) is an American engineer, physician, and former NASA astronaut. She became the first black woman to travel into space when she served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Jemison joined NASA’s astronaut corps in 1987 and was selected to serve for the STS-47 mission, during which she orbited the Earth for nearly eight days on September 12–20, 1992.
Agent J (usually called Jay), a.k.a. James Darrell Edwards III, is the main protagonist, in the Men in Black franchise and also the main character in the animated series. He is an agent of the MiB, after being recruited by Agent K. He is energetic, and tries to bring life and emotion back to the bland organization.
He is played by Will Smith in the films (who also played a fictional version of himself in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Robert Clayton Dean in Enemy of the State) and is voiced by Keith Diamond in the animated series.
Ruby Rhod is a famous host of a 2 hour radio show hosted on and sponsored by Fhloston Paradise with a quarter of The Federated Territories population (over fifty billion people) listening to his show. He has very unorthodox wardrobe and exotic fashion sense. In many ways, he acts in a girlish manner when exposed to combat or is simply annoyed by your presence.
Heimdall was the all-seeing and all-hearing Asgardian and former guard of Asgard‘s Bifrost Bridge. He could see and hear nearly everything that happens in the Nine Realms. Despite vowing to obey the orders of Odin, Heimdall was prepared to commit treason if it meant protecting the Realms, as he allowed the Warriors Three to return Thor from Midgard to defeat Loki.

Mace Windu, a Force-sensitive human male, was a revered Jedi Master and member of the Jedi High Council during the last years of the Galactic Republic. During his time in the Jedi Order, he once served as elected leader of the Jedi and, during the Clone Wars, as a Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic. He was the greatest champion of the Jedi Order and promoted its ancient traditions amidst the growing influence of the dark side of the Force in the corrupt, declining days of the Republic.
Gamora is the adopted daughter of Thanos, and the last of her species. Her powers include superhuman strength and agility and an accelerated healing factor. Saw Gerrera was a human male Onderonian resistance fighter who, as a leading member of the Onderon rebels, fought against the Confederacy of Independent Systems on Onderon during the Clone Wars. He and his younger sister, Steela Gerrera, were instrumental in the rebel liberation of their homeworld during the Onderonian Civil War. He later became a key member in the fight against the Galactic Empire and the formation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. His tactics against the Empire led him to be seen as an extremist, one whose notoriety was recognized by the Empire and, many years later, the New Republic.
Geordi La Forge was a Human male Starfleet officer who originally was the helmsman of the USS Enterprise-D during 2364, with the rank of lieutenant junior grade. He was promoted to lieutenant and later lieutenant commander and became the chief engineer of the Enterprise-D and later USS Enterprise-E, both under Captain Jean-Luc Picard. yota Uhura (/niˈoʊtə ʊˈhʊrə/) is a fictional character in the Star Trek franchise. The character was portrayed by Nichelle Nichols through the sixth Star Trek film. Since 2009, Uhura has been portrayed by actress Zoe Saldana.

Dennis Monroe Parker[5] was the chief engineer aboard the commercial towing vehicle USCSS Nostromo. Finn, formerly designated FN-2187 (“Eight-Seven“), was a Force-sensitive human male stormtrooper who served the First Order until his desertion and subsequent defection to the Resistance during the First Order–Resistance war. Though trained since birth to be a loyal and obedient soldier, FN-2187’s conscience conflicted with the methods of the First Order. For a time he was unwilling to support the Resistance, hoping to escape the galactic conflict instead of fighting for a cause he believed was doomed to fail. As the galaxy became consumed by war, the renegade trooper was ultimately forced to decide where his true loyalties lay.
